We wanted something our whole family could safely use — from our newborn baby and toddler to our teenagers. For years, coconut oil had been a staple in our home because of its many skin benefits, but we didn’t love the heavy, greasy feel it left behind on our skin and clothes. In 2022, Marquay Seamster and our daughter, Jordynn, began experimenting with the first batches of body butter by blending shea butter with coconut oil. The results were immediate: lasting moisture, visible restoration, and relief for everything from cracked feet to diaper rash. From there, Joyya Seamster began refining the recipe, creating a smoother texture, more consistent batches, and a scent profile that felt luxurious enough to enjoy from head to toe. Then came two happy accidents that changed everything — a batch left in the freezer too long that required a second whip, creating a texture that looked and felt like frosting before melting into the skin like silk, and a last-minute scent adjustment that led to the sweet vanilla fragrance people now know and love. That is how Frosting was born. By 2024, we were gifting jars to family, friends with new babies, and even owners of hypoallergenic pets. People loved it, and after years of using it ourselves as our family’s replacement for lotion, we knew it was time to share it.
